Author’s Voice & Mission

Anjanette’s writing is grounded in her faith, vulnerability, clarity, and a fierce commitment to justice. In Past the Pain, she does not shy away from describing raw emotional experience—but she anchors that in hope, in spiritual reflection, in community, and in pragmatic strategies for healing.

Her mission is to help others who have faced trauma (especially related to state violence, policing, or systemic harm) move through pain—not by bypassing it, but by naming it, processing it, and finding pathways forward into agency, purpose, and self-preservation.

She also aims to shift systems: her advocacy work includes efforts to reform how police execute search-and-warrant practices, to increase accountability, and to challenge invisibility of harm in marginalized communities.
